Pros and Cons of VDI, VNC, RDP Cobrowsing and Virtual Browser Sharing

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Virtual Network Computing (VNC), Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), Co-browsing and Virtual Browser Sharing are all technologies that allow remote access to a computer's desktop environment. Here are some of the pros and cons of each technology:


Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI):

  • Better security: VDI can provide better security as the virtual desktops are stored on a central server and accessed over a network, reducing the risk of data loss or theft.
  • Improved performance: VDI can improve the performance of virtual desktops compared to physical desktops, as virtual desktops can be optimized for specific hardware configurations.

Cons:
  • High costs: VDI can be expensive due to the need for specialized hardware and software, as well as the cost of ongoing maintenance and support.
